MILWAUKEE M18 FUEL D-Handle Cordless Jig Saw (2737)
MILWAUKEE introduces the newest full-sized jig saw with the 2737 M18 unit. There’s a ton to love about this saw and not much to complain about. It’s a fantastic tool with all the features we’d want to see in a cordless jig saw.

At nearly 5 lbs, the 2737 isn’t the heaviest but is definitely above average. We’ve found that this upper end suits us well since it doesn’t need too much finessing to navigate while remaining stout enough to handle the occasional jumps and jerks from the blade.
3,500 spm is the current maximum for this saw class and MILWAUKEE meets it. The 1” stroke also measures up its peers in cutting capacity.
Orbital settings (four inclusive of a zero setting) allow for finer or aggressive cuts, depending on the desired finish and cutting speed. The speed settings are controlled with a variable trigger. This is our favorite type of variable speed control and is found on a few other competing models as well.
Regarding dust control, MILWAUKEE engineers a couple of options depending on your preference. The included dust blower can blow air either forward or backward (a switch on the side of the body determines which direction the air blows).
- If the forward option is selected, the air blows the dust towards the front of the tool and keeps the cut line clear.
- If the backward option is selection, the 2737 blows dust through the dust chute integrated into the base. The included dust port attachment can then be used to hook up your shop vac or dust collection system.
All in all, we’re really impressed with the flexibility and functionality that the 2737’s dust management capabilities provide.
The LED light located at the front of the unit is very bright. We had no issues seeing our cut lines, especially in dim working conditions such as under-cabinet spaces.
MILWAUKEE throws in a few accessories as well. A blade cover attaches in front of the blade and completely encases the dangerous bits. Also, an anti-splinter insert fits around the blade and acts as a bit of a zero clearance insert. In short, it aims to minimize tearout by supporting the wood fibers directly on either side of the blade. Note that both of these accessories can’t be used when the tool is making beveled cuts.
Speaking of bevels, adjustments are tool-free and locked/unlocked via an adjustment lever. With positive 45-degree stops both left and right with common detents along the way, dialing in angles is a breeze.
Blade changes are easy with the integrated lever-action blade change mechanism. Note that the 2737 uses t-shank blades only.
