Let’s start with the obvious: SAWSTOP preserves your pointers.  Just watch the hotdog test.  Envision that hotdog as your index finger.  Or your extremity of choice.  You’ve got ten and SAWSTOP intends to keep it that way.  To summarize the technology: the system monitors the electrical resistance from the saw blade at an inconceivably rapid rate.  As long as wood (materially non-conductive) is being introduced to the blade, all is well.  The instant that something minutely conductive (fingers or hotdogs) contacts the blade, a literal gunshot launches a brake pad into the saw blade.  The trajectory of the brake forces the blade downward in 5 milliseconds.  For comparison’s sake, the airbags in your car deploy in 50 milliseconds.  A would-be severed finger is now only a nicked finger, which is also a happier finger.

99% of accidents can be avoided by careful hands and focused minds.  The remaining 1% always exists and manifests in approximately 10 amputations every day.  SAWSTOP aims to ensure the stopgap against this final risk.  Take a look at the stories of those who wish they would have used a SAWSTOP.

Fun fact: SAWSTOP attempted to license their technology to table saw manufacturers in the early-2000s but couldn’t secure a deal worthy of their innovation.  They then decided to make their own saws.

SAWSTOP safety features extend beyond the blade in the oversized on/off paddle standard on all models.  Lights on the control box convey system status to avoid any ambiguity to the power supply situation.  We’ve all plugged in a tool only to realize it was switched on the entire time [looking at you random orbital sander].  A blade guard, riving knife, and push stick are also included.

Just in case you can’t help but touch a spinning blade.

Aside from the safety features, the Jobsite Saw Pro packs 1.5 hp under the hood to ensure steady and uninterrupted power during the most demanding rips and cuts.  The T-Glide fence adjusts solidly and without any noticeable slop.

Blade tilt is both quick and accurate with the included micro-adjust mechanism.  The zero-clearance insert does a respectable job preventing tearout.  For further tearout prevention, we recommend slapping FastCap Zero Clearance Tape on your saws (also works great on miter saws).

The entire unit is mounted on a cart that is both suitable for the temporary worksite location and permanent garage placement.  8” wheels ensure steady movement when desired while a sturdy tubular framework assures rock-solid placement when deployed.
