This track saw packs 20 volts of cordless power as a part of the extensive 20v family from DEWALT. If you’ve already bought in to the rock solid line of 20v products, this track saw is your best bet. It’s a solid track saw that will seamlessly integrate into your stable.
The DCS520 bevels beyond 45 degrees so miters won’t be an issue. Table saws are preferred for these kinds of cuts but this track saw kit can rip a miter in a pinch when needed.
Safety feature abound in this saw. Riving knives and anti-kickback pawls are staples for table saws but are much more rare in track saws. The DCS520 includes both of these to ensure that cutting operations are kept as safe as possible.
The zero clearance footplate is a welcome feature. Chipout and tearout are kept to an absolute minimum. The DCS520 gave us clean cuts in all sorts of material.
Dust collection is adequate. Like most track saws, the DCS520 shuttled most of the dust through the dust port but still managed to coat our workspace with a noticeable layer of sawdust. Not a big deal; it’s part and parcel for track saws of this caliber.
The warranty for the DEWALT is among the best in the industry. A one-year free service along with a three-year limited warranty proves that DEWALT stands behinds its product. If you’re disappointed in this track saw (you won’t), you’ll be compensated for any issues that arise.
